PROJECT ENGINEER – DHI CORP

The Project Engineer will finalize Requests for Proposals (RFP) with vendors – both international and domestic; coordinate purchase orders to vendors; gather existing proposals to convert into Customer Purchase Orders; coordinate project shipments to customers; prepare and coordinate detailed project information to customers; and strategically analyze information from both vendors and customers.

Duties: 

 Assist Project Managers in developing, documenting and implementing project specific procedures.
 Interfacing with the distribution chain, internally with sourcing, sales, marketing, purchasing, operations, and finance to develop accurate purchase orders with the greatest value to both customer and company.
 Have a proficiency in computer programs utilized to perform duties. Have a thorough knowledge of the Contract Documents, Plans, Specifications, Owner Contract and Construction Contracts for projects assigned.
 Maintain contractor/vendor database/project directory.
 Assist in the monitoring, communicating, and updating of project schedules.
 Maintain current scheduling information.
 Set up and maintain project-filing system.
 Review pricing and status of change order requests with Project & Sales Managers
 Implement and manage a procedure for issuing a ‘Notice to Proceed’ for approved change order requests.
 Identify and review major areas of concern with Project Manager.
 Ensure all checklists, submittals, RFI’s, change orders, and Payment Applications are submitted and processed in accordance with contract documents.
 Expedite processing of submittals and maintain current status file and log.
 Monitor project’s closeout documents to assure completeness and that the current set of as-built drawings reflects all changes from the base contract documents. This would include all addenda, clarification, field orders, approved change orders, relevant correspondence and documenting field conditions.

Qualifications:

 Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in architecture, engineering, construction science, or a related field a plus
 Minimum one to two years of construction industry experience.
 Must be computer literate in windows based software including word processing, presentations and spreadsheet programs.
 Must have strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills and present a professional image both in person and over the phone.
 Must be organized and have the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
 Time management; need to be able to multitask and meet deadlines effectively.
 Prior experience in the Consumer Products a plus

 

PRODUCT MANAGER – Accents Unlimited

This position is responsible for all areas of Product Management for LAWN & GARDEN DECOR division, to include: identification of product trends, competitive analysis, vendor negotiations for new products, direct customer feedback, sku rationalization, & new product development. In addition, this position will manage complimentary product lines, responsible for communicating the product vision, & working closely with overseas manufacturers during development of products.  The position requires working closely with sales, marketing, Asia Operations & customer service to ensure product placement revenue & customer satisfaction goals are met while aligning with Corporate strategy.


• Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally (Minimally 20% expected)
 

Qualifications

 Degree preferably in Business or Marketing. 
 5 years successful product management experience in consumer durable products
 Fundamental understanding of market research techniques & projects.  Ability to plan, execute, and communicate market research projects as assigned.

DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Job Purpose: 
Oversees the creation of strategic plans to ensure the sale and profitability of new products, lines, and the evaluation of the financial aspects of product development, such as budgets, expenditures, research and development appropriations, returns-on-investment and profit-loss projections.

Product engineering/design activities dealing with issues of cost, producibility, quality, performance, reliability, serviceability and user features.

All areas of Product Development, to include:  identification of product trends, competitive analysis, vendor negotiations for new products, direct customer feedback, sku rationalization, new product development, inventory planning all with a heavy focus on delivering the lowest costs while ensuring high quality standards.

Duties: 
• Define the product strategy, roadmap and business plan
• Manage the Plumbing and complimentary product lines, responsible for communicating the product vision, & working closely with overseas manufacturers during development of products. 
• Work closely with ASIA Engineering to improve product quality and conformance
• Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
• Be an expert in the category of plumbing product with respect to the competition
• Identify and document the strengths and weaknesses of all major competitive products including a detailed competitive pricing analysis annually.
• Presenting product ideas to senior executives with deep and broad technical knowledge
• Follow a team-oriented Product Lifecycle Management Process for on-time introduction, successful execution, & aggressive new product launch campaigns
• Represent Product Lifecycle Management to management team and as part of strategic initiatives
• Identify market trends via documented retail analysis, trade shows attendance, customer visits & international travel to suppliers.
• Role interfaces with literally every functional area of the company, (internal & external), involved in bringing our product lines to market: Product Design, Product Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Suppliers, Quality, Finance, Manufacturing, Marketing, Forecasting, Sales, Sales Support & Graphics groups.
• Develop product lines for annual introduction to maximize market presence within our Pro, Co-op, Builder, Retail & MRO distribution.  Activity includes establishing Products, Spec Sheets, List Price & initial standard cost. 
• Oversees & manages new order codes, UPC’s for all new & revised products. 

Qualifications:
• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5-7 years product management experience in consumer durable products
o Faucet / plumbing experience preferred
• Demonstrated success in executing & launching successful products
• Fundamental understanding of market research techniques & projects.  Ability to plan, execute, & communicate market research projects as assigned.



FULFILLMENT MANAGER

Directs and manages entire fulfillment process to include: order taking, fulfillment / customer service, call center, logistics, shipping, packaging, and warehouse. Acts as a strategic partner in shortening and simplifying the supply chain / logistics and improving planning accuracy to improve customer satisfaction (OTD), reduce costs, and improve inventory metrics such as turns.

Job Duties

 Directs the negotiation, planning, development and implementation of logistics (transportation, warehouse and distribution) activities, systems and processes to include improving and managing value-added services that complement our warehousing, distribution and fulfillment functions (keying, displays, assembly).
 Directs the customer service / call center activities to improve customer satisfaction
 Drives ongoing cost reduction/containment activity to ensure competitive cost position.
 Researches and evaluates alternative processes and systems to assess benefit and applicability to current logistics practices and business needs.
 Drives supplier performance for quality, delivery, lead times, terms and other drivers of operating working capital.
 Technology / ERP.  Plan for visibility, alignment, integration, optimization and drive adoption. Understand latest technology improvements and options as it relates to transportation and distribution.
 Optimize logistics footprint and processes to meet organizational customer service, inventory, and cost goals
 Improve e-Commerce support by shortening delivery times and increasing the number of shipments. Focus on integrating system with our customer’s to allow company to receive orders instantaneously and to pick, pack and ship these orders most efficiently
 Controls costs through productivity of personnel, efficient utilization of storage space, and proper protection of stored materials
 Develops and maintain relationships with carriers and vendors to assure quality carrier service that delivers products to customers in an effective, efficient, and economical manner. Negotiate and manage agreements with logistics providers
 Selects, develops, educates and motivates assigned staff
 Develop and ensure compliance with preventive maintenance program and safety

Qualifications
 Bachelor’s degree in the area of Supply Chain Management, Transportation Management, or related field of study.
 Understand requirements for both domestics shipping and international shipping.
 Five years of managing transportation, logistics or a related field, preferred.
 Three years of managing customer related functions.
 Solid project management skills
 Experience with Six Sigma or other process improvement methodology.
 Has experience standardizing work processes and streamlining cross-functional tasks.
 Uses technology to maximize efficiency and improve workflow.
 Skilled at using database, spreadsheet, and word-processing software
 Has implemented processes such as status reporting, issues/risk tracking, and change and communication management.

Fulfill orders correctly and in a timely fashion so that shipment is made according to customer’s need.  Performs manual duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, rework, storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies.

Warehouse / Material Handling
 Pull materials from inventory
 Safely operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage to unload containers, pick orders, displays, UPS, etc
 Package materials as appropriate to eliminate damages.
 Work to manage supply level and reduce materials from inventory.
 Condense and relocate materials to ensure that warehousing space is being used efficiently.
 Perform inventory cycle counts, and maintain accurate material counts.

 Learn additional skills in the Production/Assembly department such as unloading containers, vanity assembly, rework, Bath in the Box/View Pack, tub line and other duties as directed by their Supervisor.
            
Qualifications:
 Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
 Be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
 A minimum of one year of receiving experience.
 Computer literate with the ability to accurately enter data.
 Forklift certification.
